This year BIME PRO will host the first edition of the Music Equality Forum and the first Music Editing Conference.

After a long time developing international businesses virtually, this October the Euskalduna Conference Center in Bilbao will accommodate the big reunion of the European and Latin American music industries.
The Latin American industry will be especially present in this edition, as the precursor of BIME Bogota in April 2022, and will be well represented by a broad delegation of professionals from the other side of the Atlantic.

THOSE WHO LED THE WAY
The program, as ample as it is diverse, will be led by RAPHAEL, who will share his expertise acquired over 60 years of performing on stage, SHIRLEY MANSON, singer and songwriter of Garbage, who has recently released an album and has become an ambassador for Keychange in its fight for gender equality in the music industry and MALA RODRIGUEZ, internationally recognized urban music reference, the first woman to win a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Song and Best Urban Music Album, MTV Latin America and the contemporary music award from the Spanish Department of Culture, Premio Nacional de Músicas Actuales.

BIGGER THAN EVER
They will be joined by over 3000 professionals who attend this international event every year. The conference will take place at the Euskalduna Conference Center on October 27th, 28th, and 29th with productive work sessions, networking, workshops, and panels which will deal with topics such as music as a tool to fight for change, copyright in livestreaming, recruitment at festivals and NFTs, as well as the latest platforms and formats for music enjoyment for younger generations. This year the facility has been fully prepared with even more square footage to adapt to the largest yet size of the event and will also include a space for innovation and entrepreneurship in the industry, the place to discover all the novelties in terms of APPs, videogames, and new technologies. The themes have been selected and prepared in collaboration with the members of the main local, state, and international organizations and associations, those who know the industry’s needs firsthand and act as curators, BIME PRO is an event first and foremost, for music industry professionals.
In terms of institutional representation, this new edition currently has the support of the City of Bilbao, the Basque Government, the Department of Culture, INAEM, Acción Cultural Española (the State Society for Cultural Action), Sounds from Spain-ICEX, Basque. Music., Navarra Live Music,MediterranewMusix, Catalan Arts, AGADIC-Xunta de Galicia, IDARTES-Mayor’s Office of Bogota, ProChile and Dutch Music Export, among many others.
BROADENING HORIZONS
Among the most novel features of 2021, BIME PRO will host two unprecedented international events the 1st Music Editing Conference and the 1ast edition of the Music Equality Forum, a space which brings together the top national and international efforts fighting for equal opportunities in the industry, to increase their repercussion and continue advancing toward a common goal. Plus, the edition will also see the first international Pitch Music Series call, organized in partnership with Conecta Fiction, and which will recognize the most outstanding audiovisual projects for their original use of music. Contestants from Spain, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Urugay, Portugal, France, and Russia have submitted their proposals.
CREATING A POOL
BIME PRO welcomes every person who wants to learn about and work in this industry, giving everyone the opportunity to learn the secrets of a career that is hard to find in traditional universities. This is possible thanks to 3 intense days spent with top professionals who will offer masterclasses in a fully advanced training program. What’s more, 24 students will have the possibility of participating in this program thanks to scholarships from the Employment Council of the Basque Government and Lanbide and thanks to the support of Idartes, the school of Humanism of the University of Chile Academia, Radio 3, University of Mondragón, University of the Basque Country, University of Deusto, University of Barcelona, Juan Carlos III, University of Navarra, UNIR, SAE, IMB, ENTI and THE BASS VALEY.
This event also seeks to promote and reward the most disruptive startups in the music industry, those with the greatest potential for growth and the biggest possibilities for internationalization, forging strong connections with entrepreneurship, investors, and companies attending the conference.
Like every year, during the same dates as the event, the lineup of BIME CITY will once again set side by side the best emerging music talent in different halls across Bilbao, with bands hailing from around the world.
